July Wedding in Iceland
A July wedding in Iceland offers long summer days, with nearly 21 hours of daylight! Which allow for endless celebrations under the midnight sun. Mild temperatures and vibrant greenery create a perfect backdrop for an Iceland private waterfall wedding!
But first, meet Misty and Tom! They are a pair who crave adventure. Therefore an experience driven wedding with guests spoke to them. July 17th 2023, begins blazing with sunshine at Hotel Stracta.
First, the Misty and Tom decided to get ready today and not do a first look. Second, our hair and makeup team and Iceland wedding photographer got right to work. Third, how fabulous is Misty’s wedding dress? Fourth, once everyone was ready it was time to load into the super jeep for the day! So with “go bags” in hand they embarked on the adventure…
Iceland Private Waterfall Wedding
Arriving to the Iceland private waterfall wedding ceremony location, the groupw as all smiles. Further, the pair had Tom’s sister and brother in law as their 2 guests. Also in tow was our super fun pastor, Iceland wedding photographer, and video team.
Additionally, their nature based ceremony, included exchanging rings, a kiss, and an Icelandic blessing at the end. Excatly what felt like “them” to Misty and Tom. Following their ceremony, they celebrated with bubbles and a taxidermied puffin! However, before they left this fabulous private spot, they enjoyed it thoroughly by hiking all around.
Lush Canyon Exploration
The weather in Iceland is totally perfect during their special day! For example, there were endless 360 degree views including of a glacier outlet. Next on their agenda is venturing to a hidden canyon. Not sure which images we like more… From the ground or some our Iceland elopement photographers drone?!
The Magic of Icelandic Mountains

After facing her fear of heights by exploring the ridges of a very vivid canyon Misty was rewarded with a shot of Icelandic moonshine. Yes, it’s totally a thing, look it up. Furthermore, the colors of this canyon are so vivid during summer in Iceland. Such an ideal location to explore after their Iceland private waterfall wedding ceremony!
Iconic Iceland Countryside Landmark: Pylsi & Plysa
Additionally, it’s no secret that our Iceland Wedding Planner team is not a fan of tourist location. However, we are fans of special requests and iconic countryside landscapes that some with a side of laughs. Allow me to introduce you to Plysi + Plysa, the iconic hot dogs of the town of Hvolsvöllur. Therefore, the newlyweds popped a champagne split and toasted to the other couple!
Wide Waterfall Discovery
Last on the formal adventure portion of the July wedding in Iceland is a super wide waterfall. It’s an enchanted area feels alive. Tom even took the opportunity to skip some stones on the sweet little river! Truly an ideal way to end their Iceland private waterfall wedding journey, right? But wait…
Iceland Wedding Dinner, Cake & Sunset!
Because believe it or not, that’s not the actual end to their iceland private waterfall wedding day… Firstly, the group enjoyed a delicious and slightly decorated dinner within the Stracta Bistro. Secondly a table and kransakaka were put outside to do the wonderful tradition that comes with it. Third, the newlyweds traveled for an iconic midnight sun photo opportunity and wow-wee was it worth it!
