July 30th 2024
The morning of July 30th 2024, began with quiet ease between Daphne and Ben in their suite at Hotel Stracta. However they did part ways as the beautiful bride began getting ready. Next, our Iceland wedding photographer began photographing all of their lovely details. For example, the brides dress and groom details were all thoroughly documented to begin the start of the story’s day. The pair had around 10 guests join them on their highland waterfall wedding adventure. Before loading into the super jeep for the day all the guests had their go bags ready in hand and posed for a quick photo!
Iceland Symbolic Wedding Ceremony Among the Highlands
How exciting the couple gifted their loved ones with a thrilling journey into the interior of Iceland! Since the couple had previously had marriage paperwork completed, they chose to hold a symbolic wedding ceremony in Iceland. At this secluded waterfall deep in the highlands, the pair thoughtfully said their personal vows to each other. Fair to say the sound of cascading water created an inspiring soundtrack to their highland waterfall wedding. Truly, no need for a traditional altar here as Iceland’s wilderness provided a setting more breathtaking than any venue could offer! Next, following the ceremony the group toasted with bubbles to the newlyweds new chapter!

Once they finished their glasses of bubbles it was time to discover the private property waterfall more intimately. Together hand in hand, Daphne and Ben savored every second of it’s beauty! Pretty sure the sheep nearby watching them from the cliffs loved watching them explore too!!
Exploring a “Hawaii-Like” Canyon
Meanwhile, did you know that there are several places in Iceland that give off Hawaii or Kauai vibes? To illustrate, the next location on their Iceland wedding itinerary is definitely classified as one of them! Here Daphne and Ben explored a picturesque canyon often compared to something out of Hawaii. Why you might wonder? Well! Lush green meets steep cliffs, and a stunning river flowing through lava rock!
Though Iceland and Hawaii seem worlds apart, this Hawaii-like canyon exploration proved that Iceland can surprise you with tropical-feeling beauty in its highlands. Especially during Summer weather in Iceland!
Coffee and Icelandic Donuts at a Natural Cave
Next on their highland waterfall wedding schedule, our team planned a lunch at a natural cave. Packed lunches fit the schedule best alongside some Icelandic coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts. Additionally, the group took time to discover the geological rich area! The group left in two different super jeeps as the guests returned to the hotel while the couple continued on for more highland adventures… Perfect balance!
Waterfall Hiking in the Highlands
No Iceland highland wedding adventure would be complete without a bit of hiking! Daphne and Ben couple spent part of the afternoon trekking through an area unknown by most. Furthermore, this also allowed the newlyweds to spend time connecting during the hikes! Even in late July, the weather was refreshingly cool especially when they made their way to the top of the waterfall!
High in the Interior of Iceland
Getting high in the interior of Iceland means venturing into a world of raw power and solitude. Our 4×4 super jeep crossed rivers, black sand plains, and rugged terrain. Truly the ultimate way to experience the country’s untamed beauty! As evening approached, the couple returned to Hella, Iceland, for a cozy wedding reception. Hotel Stracta offered warm ambiance, delicious Icelandic cuisine, and space to relax after a day of exploration. However, our Iceland Wedding Planner team is happy to report the ended the night with nighttime wedding photos at another offbeat waterfall!
