Cleverly planning an elopement that is a surprise to the one you love can be a challenge. Questions flood your mind like… “Will he/she enjoy what I have planned?” “What can I do to make it an unforgettable surprise even if she/he may be expecting it?” It can be a lot of pressure and stress if you plan it alone, you know?! It’s important to bring in a local professional to help you through your surprise proposal in Iceland! …and if you’re amazingly thoughtful like Jake is you’ll bring up proposal expectations ahead of time to your loved one, so there are no disappointments (which we here at Iceland Wedding Planner think is brilliant by the way). Jake knew that his soon-to-be Tarryn wished to know the morning of that it could be happening… She didn’t want to know how but she wanted to ensure she felt glamorous and delight in a luxury experience.
Flying in from Toronto, Canada a few days before, Tarryn wasn’t sure Jake would be proposing on this epic trip to Iceland but I think secretly she hoped! Jake began planning his adventurous Iceland proposal with us 6+ months before to ensure he had enough time to book his ideal date and get all of the other little details together. The morning of the proposal Jake surprised Tarryn with gifts… A new dress, new shoes, new makeup (which she doesn’t really bring / wear on vacation) so she knew something awesome was going to happen! ::High Five Jake::
We all met at Norðurflug Helicopters and they whisked the three of us up to the incredible Reykjavik Summit! Within minutes of landing, Jake grabbed Tarryn’s hand and walked her over to a stunning view point where he got down on one knee and proposed a lifetime of adventures to her! #SheSaidYes and gave him endless hugs and kisses! Just when the lovely Tarryn thought that was the end of the awesomeness Jake had planned… He told her they were jumping into our 4×4 for another super sweet surprise! Say, what?! There’s more! Yes, with Iceland Wedding Planner behind it, the luxury and experience factor doesn’t stop! We took the pair to an incredibly beautiful lakeside secret cave for a luxury picnic (Have you checked out: Iceland Luxury Picnics, yet?). The “Wow Factor” just went up a notch I think! They enjoyed the picnic and then yet again he surprised her with the last secret… an awesome Iceland engagement session!
