Being the American-born foodie I am, having a crazy action packed schedule all-of-the-time, and the fact I think grocery shopping is the biggest time sucker, EVER! I often find myself eating out a lot. I mean a lot! So needless to say, I’ve made my rounds (several times) around all of the best and worst restaurants in Reykjavik!
Six things that keep me always coming back is the following:
The quality of food.
The flavor ingenuity.
Presentation: How it’s plated.
The vibe and atmosphere.
The drink options.
The service of the staff.
That being said, I would love to share with you my favorite restaurants in Reykjavik today!
- Snaps
- Fiskmarkaðurinn (Fish Market)
- Grillmarkaðurinn (Grill Market)
- Matarkjallarinn (Food Cellar)
- Public House Gastro Pub
- Slippbarinn
- Dill
- Fjallkonan
- Mathús Garðabæjar
- Apotek
- Kol Restaurant
- Duck & Rose
Note: If interested in dinning at any of them, I strongly encourage you to make in advance reservations, especially on the weekends or high season summer days.
