Although these two had been to Iceland once before, they were called back to this magical landscape to have their dreamy Iceland elopement!  Iceland is one of those countries that you can continuously visit and never see the same thing twice, forever!  Seriously folks, I live here and I am still adventuring to new places each day/week!

This winter has been one of the mildest on record for decades.  Typically in March, we have a lot more snow in the mountains and the ground, but for Stacey and Aaron, this was the PERFECT amount!  So come along with me today to witness their beautiful elopement in Iceland!

Ohhhhhhh swoon!  Look at that Iceland wedding dress!

….and Aaron’s tartan suit!

Stacey’s arrival into that sweet little black church gave me goosebumps!

Awww and Aaron’s reaction of seeing his beautiful bride was uber sweet!

Can we hit the pause button for a sec and admire Stacey’s unique Iceland wedding bouquet?!

Every Icelander will tell you that the Snaefellsnes is not only a stunning place to visit but that the peninsula is enchanted!

Don’t worry, even though it’s been a super mild winter, we found a glorious amount of snow to have for some romantic Iceland elopement photos!

Kirkjufell Mountain (and waterfall) is incredibly beautiful when it has a light dusting of snow on it… Making way for stunning elopement photos!

There are many secret places within the Snaefellsnes Peninsula to escape away from tourists… We took a little trip to one of my favorite secret waterfalls for a fun little adventure crossing rivers and such!

The Snaefellsnes Peninsula is known to have an abundance of golden sand beaches ready for you to explore!

Ever think about venturing to a shipwreck beach with crazy awesome lava rock formations?!  These two ROCKED IT!

Toasting with bubbles cliffside, is a must do during your Iceland elopement!

When the weather changes in Iceland, it’s just a wonderful opportunity to HUG harder!

…and laugh harder that you have somehow experienced 4 seasons in one day

Take a page out of Stacey and Aaron’s book and make sure you take time to truly enjoy the view too!

As if their day was not adventurous enough, these two opted in on my suggestion of heading down inside of a 8,000 year old lava tube to explore it!  Special Note:  All of these images were taken in 100% darkness!  How cool, right?!

After 10+ hours of awesome adventures, it was time to rest, refresh, and get their second wind for their Iceland wedding reception for two!

It started snowing again so sadly no Northern Lights graced us, but we mocked up a super fun nighttime wedding photoshoot instead for Stacey and Aaron!

Skarðsvík Beach is a dreamy little gem in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula that is gloriously golden!  You’ll find this beach slightly off of Route 574 (Útnesvegur Road).  The road twists through moss covered lava fields and then opens up to beautiful basalt rocks with remarkable ridge-lines.  From the car park, you take a short stairway down to the beach and you will be instantly greeted with soft golden sand under your toes!

This was a sweet little stop during Tiffany and Brian’s Iceland wedding day adventure.  Feel free to go back to the earlier days events in case you missed them here:

• Iceland Wedding Ceremony at Hotel Budir
• Kirkjufellsfoss Mountain & Waterfall Iceland Wedding Portraits
• Iceland Engagement Session (here and here)

Tiffany and Brian very romantically ran around together hand in hand laughing and chatting!  <SWOON> The 700,000 year old Snæfellsjökull Glacier offered up a supreme backdrop as well!  Without further delay… Enjoy their stunning Iceland beach wedding photos below!  PS- Stay tuned next time for their Iceland wedding reception!

Good news fans, this epic waterfall is actually in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and less than a 30 minute drive from famous Hotel Budir.  From my own personal experience, this is hands down one of my favorite waterfalls in Iceland (and frankly maybe the world).  Plus from an Iceland wedding photographers, perspective there are so many different angles you can attack this waterfall from which transforms it into totally different looks, making it a very versatile spot for wedding portraits.

Alright folks, I won’t bore you with any more words this week! Onto the super awesome visuals!  Without further ado, please delight in Tiffany and Brian’s gorgeous Iceland weddings photos at Kirkjufellsfoss! But don’t go far friends… Next up is an incredible golden beach (yes Iceland totally has one of those too)!

The Iceland wedding ceremony of Brian and Tiffany was held under the morning mountain sun at Hotel Budir in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.  It was frankly, just as dreamy as I had pictured it 21 months ago when we began planning their beautiful Iceland wedding adventure weekend!

The love these two share gives me goose bumps, seriously!  And, I don’t say that lightly.  I am a lover of love, but these two take it up to a not notch I had not witnessed before…  You can see it in the way that Brian holds Tiffany’s hand, leads her, or the way he kisses her –he adores her beyond words.  Geeish, then the swoon factor rises when Tiffany looks at Brian, there is no one else in the room even if it’s fully crowded –you can clearly know he’s her one.  A love like theirs is one we can all learn from!

The Scoop: Tiffany and Brian are from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada and brought 45 guests from around the world to join them on a weekend full of Icelandic adventures.  The Iceland wedding weekend kicked off with their fabulous Iceland Engagement Session (and here), a delicious 3 course wedding welcome dinner, and a kick-ass bonfire on the beach all evening before the wedding.

Beth and I woke up our soon to be newlyweds, with coffee in hand at 6:45am the following morning, to ensure their day started off perfectly =)  The two lovers parted ways to get ready within Hotel Budir and then our favorite Iceland makeup artist and hair stylist began their talent on Tiffany and her bridesmaid.  By 9am Beth and I were out setting up chairs on the side of the hotel down by the waters edge, but as the wind picked up and turned a little wicked, we had to sadly make the call of moving the ceremony back up to the hilltop of the hotel to ensure the comfort of the guests.  Luckily it still boasted the same dynamic view!

Their guests gathered together at 11am on that hilltop to celebrate their love and admiration, and Tiffany + Brian spoke their heartfelt vows to each other under that majestic morning light.  After bearing through the strong winds, we decided to take the group inside for their formal Iceland wedding portraits and it was so beautiful!  Hotel Budir has this gorgeous parlor room that boasts a phenomenal panoramic view and vintage red velvet couches, swoon!  It went perfectly as you’ll see below with Tiff & Brian’s “Old Hollywood Glam” look!

By 12:15pm we were having the guests load a giant bus to begin their action packed Iceland wedding day adventure!  Our first fabulous stop was the amazing… Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall & Mountain!  So that being said… I dare you to come back next week to swoon over those stunning images!

Hugs, Love, and Smiles to you,  Ann Peters (Iceland Wedding Photographer & Planner)

Tiffany + Brian are an UNBELIEVABLE couple from Saskatchewan, Canada that I have been planning with for over 21 months!  They are such a genuine, total thrill seeking couple who is head over heels in love with each other!  Frankly, a part of me is really sad to be beginning the series of their gorgeous wedding weekend posts… because it means our Iceland wedding planning time is over!  <Insert sad, but happy face!>  In 21 months, we had over 700 emails exchanged, countless Skype calls, and endless amounts of excitement passed between =) Oh la la, words cannot express properly how grateful Beth and I are to have been such an intricate part to their unforgettable Iceland wedding adventure. ….but I’m going to try throughout the next several weeks!

Today begins the first installment of two, for Tiff and Brian’s Iceland engagement session (Ummm yeah the photos are total stunners and so much that I must break into two posts so I do not overwhelm you with awesomeness)!

Days before Brian and Tiffany’s wedding day weekend began in Western Iceland, we all went out for an afternoon adventure!  We explored the gorgeous area of Arnarstapi.  It was crazy windy, 32 degrees, but they embraced the conditions and rocked out their Iceland pre-wedding session!  They ran around sod covered houses, jumped between cliff-sides, and tramped on lava rocks like it was no big deal!  An Iceland wedding photographers, dream come true, seriously!  I mean come on, I think every girl deserves to be kissed the way Brian kisses his girl! ….In fact, I’m jealous of how romantic these Iceland engagement images are…but proud to say I created them

Enjoy their Iceland pre wedding session in the stunning area of Arnarstapi below… Make sure you keep stalking our blog to see the other unique location we chose to have as the second part of their Iceland engagement session!

Having over 10 years in the destination wedding industry under my belt one thing I can always count on is… that no matter how much you plan for what the “what if” scenarios there will be something that happens on your wedding day that you did not prepare for.  Some things being within your control and others not. Having your destination wedding in the country like Iceland, where there is not a big box store like Wallyworld or a pharmacy accessible or nearby your hotel you will need to make sure you have a very thorough emergency kit.

Situation: You wake up at your hotel, it’s your wedding morning and you or your soon to be husband have forgotten one of your toiletries you usually use in your getting ready routine and the nearest convenient store is over 40 minutes one way and doesn’t open until 10am.  You’re leaving for your Seljalandsfoss wedding ceremony in less than 1.5 hours.  It is just not possible for you  or someone else to make the drive, get ready, and get back in time for the day’s events.  The store also may not have your creature comforts you are use to, so having a bride and groom emergency kit will allow the day of panic level to go down amongst yourselves and your guests.

A couple of examples of where these bridal survival kits would have come in handy (I have personally encountered these examples throughout the years):

• The maid of honor’s heel breaks.  (Iceland Wedding Planner saves the day with super glue and alternative cute shoe option as viable backup).
• The groom steps on brides train and it rips out the button (I know as an Iceland photographer, I have taken the time to sew it back up for the bride to ensure the rest of the day is flawless).
• The MOTB or MOTG’s bra strap keeps showing (A few minutes spent pinning or a few stitches will solve this quickly).
• Example from my Iceland Wedding Day: Even as a super planner who has seen and done it all I somehow had 3 mishaps happen during my Iceland wedding day I had to navigate through: 1.) I forgot my engagement ring back at the hotel; 2.) I had asked for black chiavari chairs at the ceremony site and sadly the ceremony setup was with white plastic garden chairs. 3.) Our hired in destination photographers from Toronto, Ontario were MIA several times (the day before and then again during the reception) when we needed to speak with them. I had to go the extreme of writing a note to post on their hotel door and asking the front desk to find them for me. Two of the above items, I had no control over and one my wedding day emergency kit instantly solved.  The items you have no control over you need do what you can in the moment, take a deep breath, and find a substitute is possible, and if not deal with the situation after your beautiful day is complete.

Iceland is a awe-inspiring place and that is mainly because it is not over populated with convenient stores or shopping malls.  The natives are simple people and do not require the intricate must haves as most of us have on our must have getting ready list so chances are their stores are not going to carry the items you are in need of.  Mishaps aside, there are things that you can do to prepare for these what if scenarios before your wedding in Iceland.  To combat any potential problems the day of with yourself or your guests so here is a super awesome list of crucial wedding day items that no bride, groom, or bridal party should be without!
