We headed south from Reykjavik and found our way to a secret canyon!  Even though Iceland this year has had the MILDEST winter ever on record, we were lucky enough to have a DREAMY snowy Iceland couple’s adventurous portrait session! …little did Katie know she was moments away from Dave proposing too!  Please come alongside with us today to experience their romantic marriage proposal in Iceland!

The series below of Katie’s reaction to Dave’s Iceland marriage proposal was PRICELESS!

It’s always fun to take a few minutes and admire your new Iceland wedding ring!

The Adventure and the SNOW during this Iceland proposal session was pure MAGIC!

An Iceland proposal must do: Secret Waterfall Kisses!

…and then add in some Iceland Pre-Wedding snuggles and we’re all set!

…the end of the day (actually the light for the day) started to draw to a close and I couldn’t help but have one last swoon as we headed back into the city over this beautifully lit mountain!  What a beautiful fun stop for these newly engaged couple from Chicago! ? ? ?

Now it’s one thing to propose in Iceland (which high five to you if you have or are considering to propose in Iceland!), but then it’s another to plan a luxury surprise (see below what that means) proposal in Iceland.

That is just what Amit, a dapper gentlemen from England hired us to help him with!  So I invite you today to witness their unforgettable proposal in Iceland, watch these two lovers in Iceland getting cozy and adventure around hand in hand!

With a smile, Ann Peters + Team (Iceland Marriage Proposal Planner and Photographer)

I cannot tell you how happy these two were to see this amazing fresh layer of snow!

What exactly is a luxury proposal in Iceland? …It’s when you craft a fun story to your significant other (with the help of your Iceland wedding photographer) that gets them thinking they are simply going on a “photo adventure” in Iceland, because you two do not have enough beautiful photos together!  So we had her thinking that it was just a romantic couples session in Iceland until THIS moment!

Then you mix in an Iceland Wedding Planner who creates a stunning picnic for you with all kinds of fabulous details! Ingredients to a perfectly styled Iceland luxury picnic consist of the following: Warm blankets, comfy pillows, champagne, artesian chocolates, cheese and crackers, other Icelandic snacks, lanterns, and a LOVE marquee sign!

After she “said yes” they delighted in this Iceland luxury private picnic for two!

That Iceland wedding ring!! Stunning!

Firm believers in that statement, Rachel and John reached out to us, days after the proposal.  They were crazy excited to book their Iceland engagement session in this stunning landscape.  They then embarked on a super fun photo adventure with us in our 4×4, totally ready to hike to some offbeat locations for amazing views and incredible photo ops!

These two hiked to a secret little waterfall that morning and stole oh-so many kisses along the way!

Swoon!  That moment where the path takes you to rainbow and a mini waterfall you can walk behind! ?

Their curiosity led them behind to venture behind this super sweet private waterfall! #worthit

Love on an adventure doesn’t get any better than this ?

We had the rare kind of adventurous day that blue skies were abound!  It was simply incredible!

This is my latest and most favorite Iceland Pre Wedding Session spot! This couple and those mountains!!

Iceland Wedding Photography Tip: Let your curiosity lead you through your Iceland engagement adventure and allow your love for each other naturally take over.

Rachel + John, Please com back to Iceland to hold that magnificent wedding day! #prettyplease  You look AMAZING in these tones and textures together!!

Did someone order up a glacier view for this Iceland E-Session?!

Below is one of my favorites from their Iceland engagement session…

Keeping the curiosity coming, we found our way to another amazing waterfall that had a totally different look and vibe!  Will you have your Iceland engagement portraits at a waterfall?

First of all, I absolutely love shooting engagement sessions in new & different places (I live here in Iceland and I always find more!).  Then, you have two absolutely beautiful people (inside and out), in love with each other, in love with Iceland, super easy going and above all very into adventure!

Allow me to introduce you to Cassie + Kyle.

These two contacted me well over a year ago looking to plan their 25 person Iceland Destination Wedding.  Lovers of travel and adventure this magical place was always high on their bucket list!

Once the wedding was planned, they loved the idea of adding on an extra adventure day with us to go exploring and photos along the way.  We found ourselves in places that look like Mars… No joke!  As you’ll see below

Their love poured out of them and it made my cheeks hurt from smiling with them!  Love and adventure here in Iceland does that to you.  It’s a fabulous side effect!

After Mars, we found Narnia for their Iceland Engagement Session location.

It was lush, vibrant, and held such amazing secret spots as we hiked our way through!

If I had a dollar for every time I made then kiss at a waterfall that day… lol

The open empty landscapes at our secret locations (with ZERO tourists in Summer by the way) was a beautiful surprise to them.  It’s so much fun watching our clients explore and deeply enjoy venturing around through the textures and tones during their Iceland Pre-Wedding Sessions.

It had been overcast for most of our adventurous Pre-Wedding Session in Iceland, but some lovely blue skies did emerge at one point!

These two… Their love, their smiles, and their sense of adventure were just so much fun!

Mmmm and the dreamy low clouds were a nice romantic feature too!

Love becomes deeper in Iceland.  You become explorers in this pure untouched land and it feeds your soul in a way you never experienced or were hungry for until now.  Our clients feel it through our mission statement, photos, and when they come for their wedding weeks.  They not only have a badass wedding day but they have an unforgettable EXPERIENCE during their Iceland wedding week.

Tune in next time for their gorgeous Iceland wedding day and sweet reception decor! Did someone say 4 course dinner overlooking a fjord?!  #yesplease

During their last few days of their journey through the land of fire and ice, they spent a day with us exploring the dynamic and colorful Icelandic wintry landscape!

They hiked.  They climbed.  They even said “yes” to my request for them to repel down into cave through a snow tunnel!

True adventurers who were after an unforgettable honeymoon!  …and they got it! ?

Thank you Maegan and Jesse for choosing us and Your Adventure Wedding to plan and photograph such a gorgeous honeymoon session in Iceland!

Seriously, I do and I hope you do too!  I know for sure this amazing couple who met in Alaska and now reside in Wyoming do!  If you recall, Ciara and Jared married on August 1^st on the cutest little sod farm in Iceland.  Head back here, to relive it.  Or better yet, go see their wonderful wedding featured today on one of my favorite wedding blogs, Fab You Bliss.

Seeking adventure and great light in summer in Iceland usually begins with a 3am sunrise.  When I suggested that time to Ciara and Jared, they didn’t even bat an eyelash, woohoo for me!  So there we were, on the road for their Iceland Engagement Session from the lovely Ion Luxury Adventure Hotel at 1am heading Southeast.  I was stopped in my tracks as I watched this gorgeous light come up behind Skogafoss Waterfall.

We. Had. To. Stop.

Some of my favorites from their Iceland Pre-Wedding Session below, enjoy!

When I begin telling your Iceland wedding story it doesn’t actually begin on the wedding day, rather it begins as soon as I leave Reykjavik.  I jump in the car and begin my photography trek to your wedding adventure… What does that mean?  It means I make stops along the way photographing the places you (or your guests) are seeing as you look out your window in awe of this land of fire and ice.  My absolute favorite thing about Iceland is that the dramatic landscapes are always changing.  No matter how many times I photograph a place I see something different because it’s YOUR ADVENTURE.

When I set out on the journey to Bethany and Richard’s Southern Iceland wedding adventure, I stopped at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and heard, “Ann???” from behind me.  There they were… my favorite couple from Chicago!  They had traveled for 12+ hours at this point and obliged to a few portraits in that serendipitous moment- I was happy =)  A few images now to tide you over until I unveil their STUNNING Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon wedding ceremony images!

Julian + Fredrik met each other while at a week long conference with friends.  Neither of them were looking for love per se, but sometimes serendipitous connections lead you down that wonderful unforgettable path!   These two gents were actually married in Sweden in April and chose Iceland to honeymoon- good idea, right?  The fabulous Fredrik, surprised Julian with a Post Wedding Session Adventure as his day of wedding gift!  Seriously how fun and thoughtful is that?

Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon is one of my favorite places in Iceland because it feels like you alone, just discovered it!  This gorgeous Iceland canyon is over 1 mile long, over 300 feet tall, and has a beautiful river flowing through it.  So as you can imagine, I was seriously stoked when they chose it off my long list of options for their Iceland Honeymoon Session!

I had such a fun afternoon with these two and happy to say they crossed off a few “firsts” off their list too… Such as having a date in a lava field and stealing kisses in a canyon =)  Makes me happy to document their honeymoon adventure- thank you for choosing me gentlemen!  The best part of my job includes… Meeting cool couples like these two, climbing on sides of mountains like a badass mountain goat, and running around on 500 year old moss covered lava fields!  Ummm, yes any day of the week, please!!!  Without further ado, may you find yourself inspired by these Iceland Post Wedding images!
