We headed south from Reykjavik and found our way to a secret canyon!  Even though Iceland this year has had the MILDEST winter ever on record, we were lucky enough to have a DREAMY snowy Iceland couple’s adventurous portrait session! …little did Katie know she was moments away from Dave proposing too!  Please come alongside with us today to experience their romantic marriage proposal in Iceland!

Firm believers in that statement, Rachel and John reached out to us, days after the proposal.  They were crazy excited to book their Iceland engagement session in this stunning landscape.  They then embarked on a super fun photo adventure with us in our 4×4, totally ready to hike to some offbeat locations for amazing views and incredible photo ops!

These two hiked to a secret little waterfall that morning and stole oh-so many kisses along the way!

Swoon!  That moment where the path takes you to rainbow and a mini waterfall you can walk behind! ?

We had the rare kind of adventurous day that blue skies were abound!  It was simply incredible!

First of all, I absolutely love shooting engagement sessions in new & different places (I live here in Iceland and I always find more!).  Then, you have two absolutely beautiful people (inside and out), in love with each other, in love with Iceland, super easy going and above all very into adventure!

Allow me to introduce you to Cassie + Kyle.

These two contacted me well over a year ago looking to plan their 25 person Iceland Destination Wedding.  Lovers of travel and adventure this magical place was always high on their bucket list!

Once the wedding was planned, they loved the idea of adding on an extra adventure day with us to go exploring and photos along the way.  We found ourselves in places that look like Mars… No joke!  As you’ll see below

Their love poured out of them and it made my cheeks hurt from smiling with them!  Love and adventure here in Iceland does that to you.  It’s a fabulous side effect!

After Mars, we found Narnia for their Iceland Engagement Session location.

It was lush, vibrant, and held such amazing secret spots as we hiked our way through!

If I had a dollar for every time I made then kiss at a waterfall that day… lol

The open empty landscapes at our secret locations (with ZERO tourists in Summer by the way) was a beautiful surprise to them.  It’s so much fun watching our clients explore and deeply enjoy venturing around through the textures and tones during their Iceland Pre-Wedding Sessions.

It had been overcast for most of our adventurous Pre-Wedding Session in Iceland, but some lovely blue skies did emerge at one point!

These two… Their love, their smiles, and their sense of adventure were just so much fun!

Mmmm and the dreamy low clouds were a nice romantic feature too!

Love becomes deeper in Iceland.  You become explorers in this pure untouched land and it feeds your soul in a way you never experienced or were hungry for until now.  Our clients feel it through our mission statement, photos, and when they come for their wedding weeks.  They not only have a badass wedding day but they have an unforgettable EXPERIENCE during their Iceland wedding week.

The perfect combination of bouquet and boutonniere for K+A’s Icelandic Elopement!

During an adventure wedding in Iceland, our couples and their guests more often than not, have 3 pairs of shoes on hand… Hiking Boots, Waterproof tall boots, and Iceland wedding reception dress shoes.

K+A were most intrigued by a traditional Asatru Iceland wedding ceremony. Their Iceland wedding ceremony was dreamy on that beach!

After the beautiful beach above, we showed this fab duo a secret cave that had the most amazing outlook!

Will you take a walk through a lupine field on your Iceland Wedding Day?

The textures and tones of our secret locations for Iceland weddings is totally incredible, right?

…and who doesn’t want to stop in a cave for lunch?

Then on to a magnificent glacier to privately explore?

Have you ever seen a green like this?!  Yeah, it only exists in Iceland.

This amazing elopement happened on the longest day of the year here in Iceland, and oh boy did we take advantage of it and this couple hit a new record of locations we adventured to… 12!

There are never any “rules” during our Iceland adventure wedding days, so if you feel cold or want to change part way through the day into hiking gear, do it!

Seeking adventure and great light in summer in Iceland usually begins with a 3am sunrise.  When I suggested that time to Ciara and Jared, they didn’t even bat an eyelash, woohoo for me!  So there we were, on the road for their Iceland Engagement Session from the lovely Ion Luxury Adventure Hotel at 1am heading Southeast.  I was stopped in my tracks as I watched this gorgeous light come up behind Skogafoss Waterfall.

We. Had. To. Stop.
